Colourful Shibori

To finish our work on colours, the Preps and Year 1 did some shibori paper dyeing. Shibori dyeing is a traditional Japanese craft but we adapted the technique to use with paper. The results are fantastic!

Colour My World

Over the past few weeks, the students in Prep and Year 1 have been learning the Japanese names for the colours. We went for a walk and took photos of some of the colourful items around the school. In this presentation, the children  will tell you the name of the colour and say that they like the colour.

Bright and Beautiful.

In LOTE, the Prep and Year 1 students have been learning colour words. They learnt a song called “AKAI TORI”  which means red bird and then they made some bright and colorful birds of their own. Here are some of their beautiful birds:
